The Association of Production Design and Costume Design e.V. (VSK) advocates for the artistic, copyright, and political interests of its members. We are committed to improving working conditions and increasing the visibility of our crafts within the film industry and the public eye. As an association, we are represented in many important committees to achieve these goals. The VSK is led by a voluntary executive board and supported by a managing legal advisor. Through the diverse, voluntary engagement of our members, the association has become an important network for concerns that move us in our turbulent working world: fair wages, negotiation strategies, artistic exchange, job sharing, more climate-friendly filming, promotion of young talent, strengthening democracy, and much more.
A professional association sounds far more formal than what the VSK represents for many of its members: We inform about what is happening in the industry, discuss current topics, and support each other. As an association, we celebrate together, exchange ideas, and support colleagues when advice and help are needed, because we can only benefit from our diverse experiences. This strengthens our solidarity as colleagues and moves us forward, because it is simply more enjoyable to strive for the improvement of our working world together rather than alone.
